Our dedicated team of pastors and church staff are here to provide spiritual guidance and support, as well as resources to help you on your faith journey.
The character and effectiveness of any ministry or church is directly related to the quality of its leadership. That’s why Scripture stresses the importance of qualified church leadership and sets specific standards for evaluating those who would serve in a leadership position. Believers who invest their hearts and finances in the building of a local ministry deserve to have confidence in the leadership structure. At Worship on the Water, our leaders conduct themselves with integrity and respect when making decisions that affect the many lives that make this ministry so special.
The leadership of Worship on the Water is broken into four categories.
1. We are led and shepherded by PASTORS.
The Pastoral team oversees the day-to-day ministry and operations of the church and, together with the support Pastors and Staff, serves the community and is responsible for developing the church's spiritual life.
2. We are guided by ELDERS.
The elders work alongside the Pastors and Trustees and help guide the financial and spiritual decisions of the ministry. They serve as non-staff leaders who help provide an extra layer of accountability. The qualifications for elders are found in 1 Timothy 3:2-7 and Titus 1:6-8. According to these passages, an elder must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not addicted to wine, not pugnacious, gentle, uncontentious, free from the love of money, not fond of sordid gain, a good manager of his household, one who has his children under control with dignity, not a new convert, one who has a good reputation outside the church, self-controlled, sensible, able to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict, above reproach as God’s steward, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, loving what is good, just, and devout.
3. We are protected by our TRUSTEES.
The Trustees are members of the congregation who oversee the finances and direct the provision of the facilities needed by the ministry. They provide counsel to the Pastors regarding the major financial commitments of the church.
4. We are strengthened by OVERSEERS.
The Overseers are pastors of nationally respected congregations and ministries who love our Pastors and are willing to provide spiritual protection to the ministry. They may be called in to help in accountability matters relating to the Pastors if requested by the Elders or Trustees.
